My Story

Art has always been in my DNA.

My path here wasn't a straight line. I studied Human Development & Family Studies with a minor in Psychology, built experience in ecommerce, and went through a few unexpected redirects that, looking back, were all pointing me in the same direction — toward this.

MJPaintings and Art was born through remembering who I was as a kid - I loved creating different types of art, from drawing to painting to taking the most random pieces of trash and making them into art. I often would actually have kids at art center ask me to draw stuff for them because I was so good at catching the details and outlines of the reference photo. When I launched this business, I knew it was not going to be perfect, but I knew art was something I deeply enjoyed and brought me joy. 

I believe art isn't just something you hang on a wall. It's something you feel. And with a background in understanding people — what moves them, what they need, what connects them — I create pieces that are meant to do exactly that.

This is just chapter one. And I'm so glad you're here for it.
